My 1st 5K Run!

About a month ago my friend Trisa told me about a training program 'From Couch to 5K in 9 Weeks' that she was starting on February 11. I had just started working out again at Jazzercise and thought this sounded great! Without thinking about it too much I told her "I'm in!" and wanted to do it with her. So today I will finish my 2nd week of training, which means I have 7 weeks left. I can say it hasn't been too bad so far. It hasn't been easy but it sure feels good when I'm gone! This program really proves that anyone can do it since I'm not a runner and never have been. Kate and I go in the mornings when Grant is at school unless we have the flu or it has been raining (like this past week!). Here are the before and after pictures of my first run. It was a cool morning so I bundled Kate up really nice and warm. She loves to go on a walk and was so excited, as you can tell. She was waving to me when I took the first picture. :-) I think we had only been going for a few minutes before she fell asleep. She does that every time we go. So cute! (Don't mind the date on the pictures; I really need to change that on my camera!)

Welcome to Our Blog!

I am so excited to finally have a blog. Now I can share of all of the many adventures of my Grant and Kate. They are growing up so fast, especially Kate. She just turned 19 months yesterday! Here are a few recent pics of them: Enjoy!

Grant at one of his favorite times of the day: Eating PBJ for lunch! :-)

While my mom was at work one day, Christina surprised my mom by taking a picture of my brothers in their uniforms, developing it, and then putting it in the special frame my mom had gotten a few months back. I got in on it and brought the kids over to snap a few pics with them. Aren't they handsome? :-) David is above and Jonathan is below. Jonathan will be going to Iraq in April for 12 months. We are going to miss him!

Kate is proudly showing off her new hair cut that Mommy gave her the day before. Her bangs were in her eyes so I gave them a quick trim. Oh, how she loves her snuggly and blanket!

Joel was working on replacing our fence so the kids and I were playing around outside. It was a cold day but we had fun being bundled up.
